New Zealand HCWP – Caregiver & Home Support Worker Pathway
Skill & Commitment in Care Work
The HCWP (Home Care & Home Support Worker pathway) is aimed at caregivers who have job offers or roles in home support, elderly care, or child care. It gives individuals the opportunity to work where there’s real demand, and supports both the worker and the community.
Path Toward Stability & Residency
While initially working under a vocational care permit or contract, successful caregivers may qualify for pathways to more permanent residency, especially with continuous employment and meeting health, character, and language requirements.
Community & Personal Benefits
Working under HCWP also offers benefits beyond employment: you gain recognition for skill, access to local supports and services, and the chance to build roots in communities where care work is highly valued.
